Ott Vineyards and Winery is located in Ellijay, Georgia on 20 acres of Gilmer County's most breathtaking mountain views.  We currently have 4 acres of French American hybrid grapes planted with 3 acres producing currently and hopes to add more in the future.

Michael Ott and his blushing bride Lee have created superior quality wine from their locally grown Seyval Blanc, Chambourcin, Traminette, and Lenoire grapes.  Michael and Lee also source their muscadine from a local grower in South Georgia and are proud to craft their wine with unique qualities remnant of their past memories and present love. 

Together they have built their vineyard from the ground up, making their own wines and they have finally realized their dream with the opening of their Tasting Room and the production of award-winning wines.

Ott Farms and Vineyards features an 1800 square foot tasting room with a 30ft x 30ft vaulted covered pavilion and an 8ft x 80ft covered porch ready to accommodate you rain or shine. 

In 1921, at the age of 25, Stephan Meichtry Traveled to America from the canton of Valais, Switzerland with only a suitcase and an adventure for life.He settled in Maspeth, New York, where he would later raise his two children and further develop his passion for wine. It is believed that when he came to America, he brought his own root stock from Switzerland and grew the vines he used for his lifelong wine-making. A stock from these same vines is now planted at Chateau Meichtry Vineyard. Although Stephan has passed, his love for life lives on through his daughter Doris and his appreciation for viticulture and wine in his Granddaughter Karin.

Grapes and Ladders Vineyards and Winery is a family owned and operated vineyard, winery and tasting room.  Cindy and Glenn Jackson bought 10 acres of rolling pastureland in Ellijay, GA in 2013.  They took time to build their vineyard by planting a combination of Chambourcin, Merlot, Zinfandel and Lenoire grapes.  Then opened the tasting room in October of 2020.  Their dream was to create a friendly place where guests could relax with a glass of wine, visit with friends, listen to music, and forget about their cares for a while.  We believe Grapes and Ladders has done that.  Providing great wines in a relaxing kid and pet friendly environment.  We have a beautiful tasting room with a patio, picnic tables and lots of outdoor space.  We can’t wait for you to see it and have an unforgettable experience.
